2011, I didn't see you there
Yes I have a blog. Yes the only reason I have it was because of a class in college. Yes I only posted because I was required to. Yes I didn't like it. And yes I'm only starting to post again because I'm finding myself needing something a bit more constructive to do during these days of relative unemployment. No, I don't expect you to read this religiously. But you're here now, so you might as well continue on.
I'm living in Philadelphia now. We moved in this past August, and I'm really beginning to fall in love with this city. It's got hidden character. In a matter of blocks I travel through smaller residential streets and then step out onto busy Broad Street to see the handful of taller buildings in the skyline. People are friendly, Whole Foods is around the corner and I'm all set to live on my own. The problem? NO ONE IS HIRING. How far my Lehigh education has brought me. But it's okay, I'm trying to find ways to keep myself busy. Netflix helps.
Tonight I gain some structure back. At 7pm I will start rehearsal for Sarah Ruhl's Eurydice in which I shall be playing...Eurydice. I'm very excited. Been wanting to get a Ruhl under my belt and, let's be honest here, it is always an honor playing the title roll. The production is not with a particularly big theatre company, nor is it paid, but it is something to focus on and I really need that right now. My time has mostly been spent looking for work, applying for jobs, going on the occasional interview and waiting for a positive response. So far, no go. It's disconcerning, but it could be worse. I'm paying my bills working catering gigs which is a lovely forum for extensive character study. Also learning a great deal about event planning and management of people.
When I'm not doing this stuff or watching endless streaming movies from Netflix or surfing the internet? Why, how kind of you to wonder. I like to go to the zoo and see these lovely creatures:

Now, it is my understanding that a blog should offer something to its readers. Life lessons, cooking tips, hilarious anecdotes, beautiful photographs, political notions, insider trading tips...you know. Well, I can't guarantee that you'll get anything like that here, but you might.
Yeesh, what a ridiculously excessive post. Had some time to kill, and, frankly, I really like the sound my keyboard makes when I type on it.
